Starry Night Cooler

  • Author: Imili Johnson
  • Total Time: 7 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz vodka or white rum – Smooth and neutral, vodka lets the other flavors shine, while rum adds a bit of tropical depth.

  • ½ oz blue curaçao – A citrus liqueur that provides vibrant color and a subtle orange note.

  • ½ oz fresh lemon juice – Adds brightness and a tart kick to balance the sweetness.

  • ½ oz honey syrup or simple syrup – Brings in gentle sweetness; honey syrup adds warmth and depth.

  • 2 oz coconut water – Light, smooth, and hydrating, this enhances the tropical vibes.

  • 2 oz tonic water or sparkling lemonade – For bubbles and lift, giving the drink a lively finish.

  • Ice cubes – Essential for chilling the drink to perfection.

  • Edible glitter (optional) – For that night-sky sparkle.

  • Lemon twist & star-shaped fruit – Garnishes that bring out the celestial theme.

Instructions

1. Chill the Glass

Pop your serving glass in the freezer for a few minutes to ensure your cocktail stays icy cold.

2. Prepare the Garnishes

Cut a thin lemon twist and, if using, slice star-shaped pieces of starfruit or pineapple. Set aside on a small plate.

3. Shake the Base

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine:

  • Vodka or white rum

  • Blue curaçao

  • Lemon juice

  • Honey syrup

Shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds to chill and mix thoroughly.

4. Add Coconut Water

Strain the contents of the shaker into your chilled glass over fresh ice, then slowly add coconut water. Stir gently to blend.

5. Add the Bubbles

Top with tonic water or sparkling lemonade. Pour slowly to retain carbonation.

6. Glitter It Up

Add a pinch of edible glitter (if using) and stir gently. Watch it shimmer like a night sky.

7. Garnish and Serve

Garnish with your lemon twist and star-shaped fruit. Serve immediately and enjoy your cosmic cocktail creation!

Notes

The Starry Night Cooler’s ethereal beauty is matched only by its balanced flavor. It’s not just about looks—each element serves a purpose. The lemon and honey dance together to bring citrusy sweetness, while the coconut water smooths everything out. Meanwhile, the blue curaçao not only colors the drink but adds a subtle depth that lingers on the tongue. This cocktail captures the essence of sipping under a canopy of stars, making each moment feel just a bit more magical.
