  • Author: Imili Johnson
  • Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 4 sub rolls
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

Preparation

Step 1: Cook the Spaghetti

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Boil the spaghetti according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain and toss with the marinara sauce to coat evenly.

Step 2: Prepare the Sub Rolls

  • Cut the tops off the sub rolls and hollow out the insides, leaving about ½ inch of crust around the edges to hold the filling.
  • Save the removed bread for another use, like breadcrumbs or croutons.

Step 3: Make the Garlic Butter

  • In a small bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and Italian seasoning.
  • Brush the inside and edges of each hollowed roll with the garlic butter mixture.

Step 4: Assemble the Subs

  • Stuff each roll with the saucy spaghetti mixture.
  • Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese generously over the top of the spaghetti.

Step 5: Bake

  • Place the stuffed rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the bread is golden and crispy, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

Cooking Note

  • Add extra flavor: Sprinkle a dash of red pepper flakes or a drizzle of olive oil over the top before baking for a spicy, savory twist.
  • Cheese options: Experiment with different cheeses like provolone or Asiago for unique flavor combinations.
