Pillsbury Biscuit Garlic Butter Cheese Bombs – Quick & Cheesy Appetizer Recipe

  • Author: Imili Johnson
  • Total Time: 22 minutes

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits)
  • 4 oz mozzarella cheese, cut into 8 cubes
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

Preparation:

Step 1: Preheat and Prepare

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.

Step 2: Prepare the Biscuit Dough

Open the can of refrigerated biscuit dough and separate the 8 biscuits. Use your hands or a rolling pin to flatten each biscuit into a 3-inch circle on a clean surface.

Step 3: Add the Cheese

Place a cube of mozzarella cheese in the center of each flattened biscuit circle.

Step 4: Form the Bombs

Carefully fold the edges of each biscuit over the cheese, pinching the dough together at the top to seal it into a ball. Make sure the seams are closed tightly to prevent the cheese from leaking out during baking. Place each dough ball seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 5: Garlic Butter Coating

In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt. Mix well to combine.

Step 6: Brush the Dough Balls

Generously brush the tops of each biscuit dough ball with the garlic butter mixture, ensuring they’re well-coated for maximum flavor.

Step 7: Bake

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the cheese bombs for 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden brown and the cheese inside is melted.

Step 8: Final Touch

Once the cheese bombs are done, remove them from the oven and, if desired, brush them with any remaining garlic butter. Serve them warm, and enjoy the melty goodness!

Notes

Cooking Notes:

  • Cheese Variations: While mozzarella is a classic choice, you can experiment with other cheeses like cheddar, provolone, or a blend for a different flavor profile.
  • Dough Handling: Be gentle when sealing the dough around the cheese to avoid tearing. If needed, press the dough together slightly to ensure it stays sealed.
  • Storage: These cheese bombs are best served fresh, but they can be stored in an airtight container for 1-2 days. Reheat in the oven for a few minutes to regain their golden crispiness.
