Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients:

For the Dip:

  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup (100 g) packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup (120 ml) heavy cream (optional for lighter consistency)

For the Pecan Topping:

  • 1 cup (120 g) pecans, roughly chopped
  • ⅓ cup (75 g) brown sugar
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp (15 g) unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

Preparation:

Step 1: Prepare the Base Dip

  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the brown sugar and vanilla extract to the mixture, continuing to beat until smooth and well combined.
  3. If you prefer a lighter consistency, slowly incorporate the heavy cream, beating until the desired texture is achieved.

Step 2: Make the Pecan Topping

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar, heavy cream, and butter.
  2. Stir continuously until the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to bubble slightly.
  3. Add the chopped pecans, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Stir well to coat the pecans in the caramel mixture.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before using as a topping.

Step 3: Assemble the Dip

  1. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly into a shallow serving dish or bowl.
  2. Spoon the warm pecan topping over the cream cheese layer, spreading gently to cover the top.
  3. Let the dip cool for 5–10 minutes to allow the topping to set.

Step 4: Serve

  1. Serve with an assortment of dippers, such as graham crackers, apple slices, pretzels, or vanilla wafers.

Notes

Cooking Notes:

  • Ensure the cream cheese and butter are at room temperature for smooth blending.
  • The pecan topping can be made a day in advance and reheated slightly before serving.
  • For a firmer dip, refrigerate the cream cheese layer before adding the topping.
