  • 1 oz crème de menthe liqueur (green for color or clear if you prefer a subtler mint taste)
  • 1 oz vodka (preferably vanilla or chocolate-flavored for added richness)
  • 1 oz half-and-half or heavy cream (for a creamy texture)
  • Crushed peppermint candies or chocolate shavings (for garnish)
  • Optional: Fresh mint leaves for garnish
  • Ice cubes (for shaking)

Instructions

Preparation:

Step 1: Prepare the martini glass by rimming it with crushed peppermint candy. Place the peppermint candies in a small dish, wet the rim of the glass slightly with water, and gently press it into the crushed candies. This creates a festive, flavorful rim for the drink.

Step 2: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes to chill the drink quickly. Add chocolate liqueur, crème de menthe, vodka, and half-and-half or heavy cream to the shaker.

Step 3: Shake vigorously for about 10-15 seconds. The longer you shake, the colder and creamier your cocktail will be.

Step 4: Strain the mixture into the prepared martini glass, being careful not to disrupt the peppermint rim.

Step 5: Garnish with additional crushed peppermint candy or chocolate shavings. For an extra festive touch, add a small sprig of fresh mint on top. Serve immediately and enjoy the cooling, chocolaty flavors.

Notes

  • Use a high-quality chocolate liqueur for the richest flavor. Cheaper brands can make the cocktail taste overly sweet without enough chocolate depth.
