Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Honey Garlic Sauce
- In a small bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, ginger, and lemon juice. Whisk until well blended.
- Set aside for the shrimp.
Step 2: Cook the Shrimp
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil.
- Season the shrimp with salt and pepper and place in the skillet.
- Sear shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
Step 3: Cook the Rice
- In the same skillet, add the rice and chicken broth (or water).
- Add a small pinch of salt and sesame oil to the rice for added flavor.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce to a simmer, cover, and cook for 12-15 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
Step 4: Add Honey Garlic Sauce to Shrimp
- Once the rice is cooked, return the shrimp to the skillet, placing it on top of the rice.
- Pour the prepared honey garlic sauce over the shrimp and rice.
- Toss gently to coat the shrimp and allow the sauce to warm through for about 2 minutes.
Step 5: Sweet Chili Sauce Drizzle
- In a small bowl, mix sweet chili sauce with sesame oil.
- Drizzle the sauce over the shrimp and rice for an added kick of sweetness and heat.
Step 6: Add Toppings
