Goat Cheese Appetizer with Honey, Fig & Pistachios

  • Author: Imili Johnson
  • Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 medium fresh goat cheese log (approx. 11 oz.)
  • 1/4 cup roasted pistachios, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon fig spread (such as Dalmatia brand)
  • Crackers or bread for serving (rosemary-flavored or cranberry-nut crackers are especially tasty)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Pistachios
Spread the chopped pistachios on a small plate. Ensure they are finely chopped to easily coat the cheese.

Step 2: Coat the Goat Cheese
Roll the goat cheese log in the chopped pistachios, ensuring it’s evenly coated on all sides. Press gently to make sure the nuts stick to the cheese.

Step 3: Arrange on Serving Tray
Place the pistachio-coated goat cheese log onto a serving platter. Arrange crackers or slices of bread around it for easy access.

Step 4: Add the Honey
Drizzle honey generously over the top of the goat cheese log. Allow it to cascade slightly down the sides for visual appeal and even distribution of flavor.

Step 5: Warm and Drizzle Fig Spread
In a microwave-safe dish, heat the fig spread for about 10 seconds to soften it. Drizzle the warm fig spread over the goat cheese log, adding a rich, fruity element.

Notes

Ensure the pistachios are fresh and roasted to enhance their natural flavor. Using high-quality goat cheese makes a significant difference in taste.
