For the Playdough Base:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup salt
- 2 tbsp cream of tartar (for elasticity & softness)
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil (or baby oil for extra smoothness)
- 1 ½ cups boiling water
- Food coloring (any color of choice)
- 2–3 tbsp glitter (fine or chunky, your choice!)
Instructions
Preparation:
1: Mix Dry Ingredients
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and cream of tartar.
2: Add Wet Ingredients
- In a separate bowl, mix the boiling water, vegetable oil, and food coloring.
- Gradually pour the hot liquid into the dry ingredients, stirring continuously.
3: Knead Until Smooth
- Once the mixture has cooled slightly, knead with your hands until a soft dough forms.
- If the dough is too sticky, add a little flour; if too dry, add a few drops of water.
4: Add the Glitter
- Sprinkle in 2–3 tbsp of glitter and knead until fully incorporated.
- If desired, mix in multiple colors of glitter for a magical effect.
5: Store & Play!
- Store the playdough in airtight containers or ziplock bags to keep it soft.
- Let kids roll, mold, and create fun shapes with their sparkly new playdough!
