Ingredients
Scale
For the Shrimp:
- 1 lb medium shrimp, peeled & deveined
- ¼ cup butter
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt & black pepper to taste
For the Pasta:
- 12 oz spaghetti noodles
- ½ cup reserved pasta water
- Fresh herbs (parsley or basil) for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Pasta
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add spaghetti noodles and cook until al dente (firm to the bite).
- Before draining, reserve ½ cup of pasta water to adjust the sauce later.
Step 2: Sauté the Shrimp
- In a large pan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add shrimp, season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes, and cook for 3-4 minutes, flipping once until pink and opaque.
- Remove the shrimp from the pan and set aside.
Step 3: Cook the Garlic
- In the same pan, add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute, stirring frequently until fragrant.
- Pour in olive oil and return the shrimp to the pan.
Step 4: Toss Everything Together
- Add the cooked spaghetti noodles into the pan with the shrimp and garlic.
- Sprinkle in Italian seasoning, and gradually pour in reserved pasta water, tossing everything together until well combined.
- Let it cook for another 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
Step 5: Garnish & Serve
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh herbs like parsley or basil.
- Serve hot and enjoy this quick and delicious seafood pasta!
Notes
- Don’t Overcook the Shrimp – They cook quickly, so remove them once they turn pink to keep them juicy.
- Use Fresh Garlic – Freshly minced garlic adds a deeper, richer flavor than pre-minced varieties.
- Adjust the Sauce – If the pasta looks dry, add more reserved pasta water or olive oil for the perfect consistency.
