  • Author: Imili Johnson
  • Total Time: 7 min

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

Cocktail Base:

  • 1 oz Pineapple Rum
  • 1 oz Mango Rum
  • 2 oz Pineapple Juice
  • ½ oz Grenadine (for layering effect)
  • Ice

For Garnish & Rim:

  • Corn Syrup & Brown Sugar (for rimming)
  • Mini Fruit Skewer (Pineapple, Cherry, Orange)

Instructions

Preparation

Step 1: Rim the Glass

Dip the rim of a hurricane or highball glass in corn syrup, then coat with brown sugar for a caramelized finish.

Step 2: Mix the Cocktail

Fill the prepared glass with ice. Pour in the pineapple rum, mango rum, and pineapple juice.

Step 3: Create the Layered Effect

Slowly drizzle grenadine over the drink. It will sink to the bottom, creating a beautiful sunset gradient effect.

Step 4: Garnish and Serve

Garnish with a mini fruit skewer of pineapple, cherry, and orange. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Layering Tip: Pour grenadine last and do not stir to maintain the layered effect.
  • Glass Choice: Serve in a hurricane or tiki glass for a fun tropical presentation.
  • Chilled Ingredients: Using chilled rum and juice keeps the drink refreshing longer.
  • Storage: Best served fresh, but you can pre-mix and refrigerate without the grenadine for up to 24 hours.
