Ingredients
For 4 servings:
- 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined (tail-on for presentation)
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for a slight kick)
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish with olive oil or butter.
In a small bowl, combine melted butter, olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, paprika, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to blend the flavors.
Place the shrimp in a single layer in the prepared baking dish. Pour the garlic butter mixture evenly over the shrimp, ensuring each piece is coated.
Transfer the dish to the preheated oven and bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook them, as shrimp can become rubbery.
For a golden, slightly crispy texture, switch the oven to broil for the last 2 minutes. This step enhances the flavor and creates a light char on the shrimp.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese (if using). Serve immediately with lemon wedges.
Notes
- Use fresh shrimp for the best flavor, but frozen shrimp (thawed) works well too.
- Adjust the garlic and lemon to taste for a stronger or milder flavor.
- If using shell-on shrimp, bake for an extra 2–3 minutes to ensure even cooking.
